Our client, a Canadian manufacturer headquartered in Burlington, has an immediate opening for a Supply Chain Manager. This role is perfect for someone with at least 5 years of procurement and supply chain experience in a “stand-alone” position (i.e. in a smaller manufacturing setting) and is highly organized and self-motivated, able to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Purchasing raw materials, packaging and consumables from established vendors/suppliers1
  • Maintaining sound business relationships with vendors and brokers, negotiating contracts and costs as required
  • Inventory control and material requirement planning
  • Ensuring products are ordered/received on time and on budget to meet production schedules
  • Monitor the status of shipments and communicate any delays or product issues to internal departments and at daily production meetings
  • Ensure accuracy of inventory through regular audits and reports
  • Project management – actively support customers’ product development projects, ensuring ‘delivery to spec’

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of relevant supply chain/procurement experience
  • Capable and accountable as the ‘stand alone’ supply chain ‘expert’; working closely with all key functional groups within the company including the executive group
  • Analytical; generating and reviewing inventory and production reports, keeping on top of KPI’s, budgets and timelines
  • Computer savvy and able to implement or streamline processes to increase productivity
  • Post-secondary education in a relevant program of study is an asset
